Description

The Djibouti 10,000 francs banknote is part of the family of banknotes that were issued after the country voted for independence from France and changed its name from the French Territory of the Afars and Issas to Djibouti. The front of the banknote is in Arabic and French texts. It features a woman carrying a baby on a sling and goats in tree branches. Other notable designs are rock outcroppings and a shepherd with Merino sheeps on the left. The reverse displays fishes and the Gulf of Tadjoura with ships in its port. This banknote has security thread varieties and its watermark shows the head of a native woman. This 170 x 90 mm paper money bears the signature of Governor Luc Aden.
